Peak Wellness Center

In February 2020, I joined the Peak Wellness Center team as the Community Engagement Coordinator. Peak is a nonprofit community mental health center in southeastern Wyoming. Everything started out normally, until the pandemic hit in March 2020. While I originally was hired to do a lot of events and promotions of Peak, my role changed quickly as we all struggled to keep up with the changes the pandemic brought. I am proud that I was able to quickly adjust to a new life and new responsibilities while maintaining a strong line of communication with staff as well as the community. Here is some of my work geared toward marketing, resources and social engagement.

Mobile Crisis Response Team flyer redesign

Part of my role involves helping Peak to develop materials that match a previously established brand standard. Many flyers and brochures were not in line with this. Here is an example of a updated brochure for the Mobile Crisis Response Team. The colors, font and images used are now following the brand.

Redesigned flyer

Redesigned flyer

Here is another example of a flyer redesign to match brand standards. I tried to keep the original spirit of the flyer, as the team said they liked the layout and text. The biggest changes came with the imagery, the fonts and the colors.

Flyer design

Flyer design

This is another example of the types of materials I design to help our clinics share information with clients. This particular flyer was not a redesign like the others, but it was developed in conjunction with a clinic director who wanted something within brand standards to share with clients and the community. With the pandemic changes, clear and concise communication had become more difficult, so my goal was to get their message across in a clean but helpful way.

Social media posts

Social media posts

As the pandemic was unfolding and changes were happening rapidly, I responded to the need for letting people know about the changes to our clinic with materials like this, designed for social media. With clinics in four counties to promote, each had important but unique information to share. This was an easy and eye-catching way to get the word out.

Social media content: Mental Health Month calendar

Social media content: Mental Health Month calendar

This was an organically designed project as requested by administration to run with our Mental Health Month social media campaign.

Social media content: Self-Care Checklist

Another organically designed post specifically for social media. This was based off an image I found online and updated to reflect our brand colors and clean up grammatical errors.

Hot Topic Tuesday: Design + content update

Hot Topic Tuesday: Design + content update

I developed a new company-wide newsletter with brand standards in mind to communicate important news, birthdays, events, information and more. Sent out weekly, this is a dynamic place where everyone participates. It’s sure to grow and change throughout the weeks as the company grows and changes, too!

Social media content: Mother's Day post

Social media content: Mother's Day post

I discovered the unfortunate reality that the font we use, Brusher, has no apostrophe! I still like the way this post turned out though, and I had my fingers crossed that it wasn’t too obvious. Sometimes, it’s not about promotion, but about the message being sent, and I wanted this one to be special for all the parents out there who are struggling through this pandemic.

PowerPoint slides

PowerPoint slides

I developed Peak brand PowerPoint slides to be used throughout the whole company. Branding has been a steady issue for Peak, and many of these projects are trying to bring these materials back to a common point and get everybody on the same page. This is the main title slide.

Building social media accounts

Building social media accounts

After the company lost access to their Instagram account, I helped build a new one so we could post content across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Creating consistency

Creating consistency

Responses to online reviews were spotty at best, and also contained potential HIPAA violations. While it’s never ideal to edit review responses, it was necessary here, and I established a new tone going forward by reaching out individually to address concerns.

Establishing blog and creating content

Establishing blog and creating content

Before I took this role, our website blog was used only to mention holiday closures. I revived this project, using it as a place to post news, press releases and original content. The pandemic did help in a sense, as it created a sense of urgency for Peak to have a place to share more frequent updates, but it is still a work in progress.

This was a blog I helped develop with staff. This was promoted across our social media channels.

Hosting Tuesday Webinar Series

I developed Peak Wellness Center’s Tuesday Webinar Series and am in the process of migrating the event to our YouTube channel. This helps boost community connections and provides education to the public on mental health awareness and ways they can make themselves mentally healthier.

New phone number and slogan

New phone number and slogan

I developed this slogan and design for a small marketing campaign to promote our new toll-free number.

With our budget slashed drastically, we have to find creative ways to do in-house marketing and organic content.
